2012 : A REVIEW !

' IT'S THE WORST OF TIMES ; IT'S THE BEST OF TIMES ! '

It's an old custom to reflect back upon the time that gone by And We are someway accustomed for such stock-taking!

The Year 2012 has witnessed many upheavals and predicted many omens for 2013.The world remains mostly preoccupied with the middle-east where SYRIA topped the news charts as a perennial battleground full of civil-strifes and foreign meddlings.As per the UNO-REPORT,as many as 50 000 people lost their lives and more than a million fled into the nearby countries of Turkey n Lebonan! The Fierce Power Struggle Between The Ruling Assad Forces n The Loose Groups of Various Oppositions Has Been Going On And Has No Signs Of Any Solutions In Sight So Far!

The Unique Phenomenon Named,'ARAB-SPRING' Has Completed Its Two Years In The Arab World With Results More Vague n Of Mixedbag Nature!IN TOTALITY,THE YEAR 2012 CAN'T BE TERMED AS GOOD FOR THE REGION.

The conditions of many african countries have been extremely pathetic!NIGER was the worst hit as one of its regions,SAHEL, was without foods and chronic hunger ,rather starvation was reported .The Crisis in Sudan Hit new lows and thousands fled or killed in the internal war.The United Nations, The United States, The European Union n others have been generous in providing aids in many forms,yet,the requirements in many african countries are much more and that, in part , is the result of poor governance and the all pervasive militia culture and of course the lack of technology to harness the vast potentials of Africa in terms of natural n human resources!

Asia has witnessed some important changes as the change of guards in China n North Korea took place which has very far reaching impacts in coming times.

Myanmar(Burma) has given good signs as it came out of its isolation and the democratic process taking strong shape in the present transitionary period.AUNG SAN SUI KYI,The legendary pro democracy leader has fought election n won n started her parliamentary journey.SHE ALSO VISITED US,UK AND NORWAY(where she accepted the Nobel Peace Award n gave a brilliant acceptance speech. . .she couldn't receive the award when she was chosen for it in early nineties for she was leading an incarcerated life).

SOUTH KOREA Also got its new premier n so did JAPAN.

INDIAN POLITICAL SCENARIO REMAINED GRIM AS THE RULING CONGRESS PARTY LED GOVERNMENT HEADED BY A RATHER PUPPET MAN,MR.MAN MOHAN SINGH, HAS BEEN EATING INTO THE VITALS OF INDIAN SOCIO-POLITICAL STANDING.
2012 REMAINED AN YEAR OF SCAMS,SCANDALS AND DYSFUNCTIONAL GOVERNANCE!THE YEAR CLOSES WITH A GANGRAPE IN INDIA'S CAPITAL CITY,NEW DELHI,THAT MADE ALL INDIANS ASHAMED!

The year 2012 was an election year for the people of the united states and there has been lots of ups n downs in the election campaigns ,but,the end result didn't appear shocking as americans still chose a man who couldn't live upto his own promises and the expectations of people,MR.BARACK HUSAIN OBAMA. But,the time was rather tougher for america and mr.obama did deliver the best that a man under such dismal economical conditions could have done!
The year end talk of 'fiscal-cliff' didn't bring any hope till the time i started to write this.
AMERICA IS CERTAINLY PASSING THROUGH VERY DIFFICULT PLUS TRYING TIMES! There were deadly shootings and natural catastrophies plaguing the country and its fiscal management showing little signs of progress!
But, AMERICA IS PRETTY MUCH RESILIENT AND IT COULD SURELY BOUNCE BACK SHORTLY !

Europe has been battling its grim economy as nations like Greece, Spain, Italy, Ireland ,to name a few,have been in dire straits!The change of guards in Italy, Greece n Spain didn't bring any noteworthy changes!
Banks are on their nadir and unemployment grows beyond control!

Despite its worst plight in years,THE EUROPEAN COUNCIL ,got the Nobel Peace Prize !
2012 was the worst year for Europe in recent memory!

Playing host to the Olympics n Paralympics,the Great Britain Has Got Its Fair Share Of Reviews,but,the media has always been in the dock for trespass and intrusion into people's privacy!

Great Britain along with Germany,where Merkel Got Another Term And France,where Sarko Had To Go With His Supermodel wife,giving way to the leftist Mr.Francois Hollande, have had moments of good cheers!
OVER ALL,NOT A SATISFACTORY YEAR FOR EUROPE TOO!
