'LOVE' : a poem by CZESLAW MILOSZ, Eminent Polish Poet n Nobel-Laureate !

LOVE.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

(a poem by Czeslaw Milosz).
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Love means to learn to look at yourself
The way one looks at distant things
for you are only one thing among many,
And whoever sees that way heals his heart,
Without knowing it, from various ills --
A bird and a tree say to him: Friend.
Then he wants to use himself andthings
So that they stand in the glow of ripeness.
It doesn't matter whether he knows what he serves:
Who serves best doesn't always understand.

PAULA DEEN,THE CELEBRITY CHEF, WINDS UP HER CAREER DISGRACEFULLY !

PAULA DEEN : FALL FROM GRACE !!
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

PAULA DEEN,The American Celebrity Chef ,Who Has Been Ruling Over The Hearts of Millions of Americans Over A Decade Via FOOD NETWORK CHANNEL n Her Brand Outlet In Savannah, GA,USA, Has Sullied Her Image -probably for once n for all !
Thanks to her acceptance during a recent chat that she has had some involvements with racial discrimination for she used to coin racial epithets n had let such racial slurs be allowed at her workplace !

Paula Deen Has Long Been Hailed As A Very Potent Plus Popular Icon In The Art of Cuisine and Has A Great Reach Into The Homes of Millians With Her Recommendations for Recipe, Her Endorsements of Brands , Her Talks on the Food Channel and her own Savannah,ga !

All seem to be in jeopardy !
Her deal with the said tv channel was to be renewed at this month's end ,which appears very unlikely and that would be a major blow to her persona n patronage!

She has not tendered a strong apology so far, albeit she offered it more privately !

Her business will be going great still, yet, that wl not be able to bring her charisma back !

Whenever her name will crop up in future, this episode wl have a substantial impact over that and she wl,despite her great fame so far,be remembered as someone tainted or someone who fell from the grace and did nothing of repairs !

She ought to hv come up with a strong apology via some sit-in with a Oprah or a Robin. . . . .!!

That might hv been some sorts of healing her afro-american fans n allay a general disappointment amongst all who hv almost idolized her for a decade or so !

The outrageous admittance of using racial epithets and the inhuman tolerance of racial slurs plus jokes around her place for such a longtime, is bound to hv its toll, howsoever the majority at social media has been going soft on her n even appealing for the renewal of Mrs. Deen's contract with the Food Network !!

The damage has already been done n the only retrieve for her is to go and try to placate the sheer sense of shock her fans are feeling post her confession !

Redemption Is All Within One's Reach If There Appears Some Inkling of Divine Intervention Even Remote In Sight !!

'TRY TO PRAISE THE MUTILATED WORLD' -A POEM BY ADAM ZAGAJEWSKI !

'TRY TO PRAISE THE MUTILATED WORLD'
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Try to praise the mutilated
world.
Remember June’s long days,
and wild strawberries, drops of
wine, the dew.
The nettles that methodically
overgrow
the abandoned homesteads of
exiles.
You must praise the mutilated
world.
You watched the stylish yachts
and ships;
one of them had a long trip
ahead of it,
while salty oblivion awaited
others.
You’ve seen the refugees
heading nowhere,
You’ve heard the executioners
sing joyfully.
You should praise the mutilated
world.
Remember the moments when
we were together
in a white room and the curtain
fluttered.
Return in thought to the
concert where music flared.
You gathered acorns in the park
in autumn
and leaves eddied over the
earth's scars.
Praise the mutilated world
and the gray feathers a thrush
lost,
and the gentle light that strays
and vanishes
and returns.

Adam Zagajewski.

A POEM OF THE POLISH POET,ADAM ZAGAJEWSKI !

'IN STRANGE TOWNS'
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
for Zbigniew Herbert
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

In strange towns there is an
unknown joy,
the cold bliss of a new glance.
Yellow-plastered tenements
where the sun
climbs like a nimble spider
exist, yet not for me. Not for me
are the town-hall,
port, jail, and courthouse built.
The sea flows through the town
in a salty
tide, sinking cellars and verandas.
At a street market, pyramids of
apples
stand for the eternity of one
afternoon.
And even suffering isn’t really
mine; a local idiot mumbles
in a foreign tongue, and the
despair of a lonely
girl in a café resembles a patch
of canvas in a poorly lit museum.
Huge flags of trees flutter as in
familiar places,
and pieces of the same lead-
weights
are sewn to the hems of sheets,
and to dreams,
and to imagination, which is
homeless and wild.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

By- Adam Zagajewski. (1989).

and Benjamin Ivry

THE GREAT SPANISH POET & PLAYWRIGHT, FEDERICO GARCIA LORCA ,WAS BORN THIS DAY IN 1898 !

FEDERICO GARCIA LORCA, One of the greatest spanish poets and playwrights of the last century (some critics say Lorca as The Greatest Spanish Poet of 20th-Cent.) ,Was born this day,June 05, 1898 In Fuente, Vaquaros,Spain , In a wealthy family of a liberal landowner and a pianist (Lorca's mother was an accomplished pianist and The Poet had a great attachment with her and that helped him gain a rather early exposure to music which was to come in handy when he had started composing poetry in his early 20s and made his poem very lyrical . .) .

With Four Published Dramas Namely, MARINA PINEDA, BLOOD WEDDING, YERMA, HOUSE OF BERNADA ALBA and Various Published Volumes of Poems, Most Notably, THE GYPSY SONG(BALLAD) Lorca Became Internationally Renowned And ,Of Course, Sadly, A Target Of The Repressive Regime of General Francisco Franco That Ultimately Had Cut The Poet's Life Short By Gunshots in 1936 when The Poet Was Just 38 !

Lorca was quite ahead of his time and his writings bear this.
His Was Of A Renaissance Spirit As He Sort of Revived The Traditional Spanish Folktales, Folksongs,Myths n Legends By Incorporating Them In His Poems Plus Plays!

He Was One of The Earliest Exponents of SURREALISM, To Which Lorca Was Introduced By The Famous Painte ,SALVADOR DALI and The Famous Filmmaker, LOUIS BUNUEL, When The Poet Had Shifted His Residence From Granada To Madrid In Late 1920s !

Lorca After His Fame Due To The Gypsy Ballads, Went To New York For Further Study At Columbia University, But Returned Just After A Year or So!He Observed The Citadel of Capitalism,NY And Had Penned Some Poems as well as Prose Pieces On His Stay There!

He Had Enthusiastically Supported The Republicans During The Spanish Civil War And Remained Very Critical of The Nationalist Forces .This Had Cost His Life!

Lorca's Death Remains A Mystery As The Poet Who Never Shied Away From Expressing His Radical Political Views That Had Enraged The Nationalists Endlessly Resulting In The Imprisonment and Murder of The Poet!

His Grave Is Not Located As No Records Certain Regarding The Disposal of The Dead Body Of Lorca After Been Pumped Bullets In Some Deserted Area !

By The Early 1970s , Lorca's Works Were Translated In Many Languages And His Place In The Pantheon of Literary Masters Of The World Got Fixed And Today Lorca Is Hailed As One of The Finest Lyrical Poets In The World Literature!

the solitary rose of your breath

is having no flower, pulp, or clay
for the worm of my despair.
If you are my hidden treasure,
if you are my cross, my dampened pain,
if I am a dog, and you alone my master,
never let me lose what I have gained,
and adorn the branches of your river
with leaves of my estranged Autumn.''
