A Prolific Writer Who Presented A Panormic View Of 19th Cent. French Society In Manners Plus Scope That Is Rarely Surpassed By Any Subsequent Author In French Literature, Balzac Could Well Be Put Inside The Bracket Along With Dostoevsky, Tolstoy, Dickens --to name only a few masters !

Balzac Is Credited With Inventing The Techniques of Serialised Books(novels) With A Repetitive Characters n Locales ! He wrote nearly 91 books and much of them or all novels penned by him were grouped together under the title, THE HUMAN COMEDY --a title said to be inspired by Dante's Divine Comedy.

Balzac wrote in realistic mode reflects in his knack for detailing place,people n objects in order to present an all encompassing portrait of french society in the first half of 19th cent. .

He is also regarded as the earliest exponent of Naturalism-a modified form of realism, and this view gained currency after the Master of Naturalism,EMILE ZOLA ,openly attributed the said mode to Balzac!

Balzac lived for 51yrs and had married just 5 months before his death, Yet,Surprisingly, He wrote extensively of marriage,man-wife relationship. . .et.al !

Balzac's relation with the world of cinema seems everlasting as hundred of films have been made that modelled after his books and this fascination still continues !
