He became more famous when he had toured the united states in 1949 and had had many poetry readings across the states!

Alcoholism did a heavy blow and he died after (reportedly) consuming 18 straight whishkey!
He breathed his last at St. VINCENT HOSPITAL,NY, at a rather young age of 39 in 1953.
