. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ..(2.). . . . . . . .
There Are Numerous Myths And Legends Associated With This Festival And It Will , Therefore,Be Wrong To Assign One Particular Story Behind Its Origin! But,The Most Common Theme Behind TheOrigin Of 'DIWALI' ,Is That It Has Been Celebrated To Mark The Triumph Of Good Over Evil, The Victory Of Gods Over Demons, The Spread Of Lights Over The Darkness, The Power Of Knowledge Over Ignorance n likewise!
Each Of The Above Pairs Points To One End And That Is - THE PREVALENCE OF POSITIVITY OVER NEGATIVITY!
Various Stories Abound In Indian Culture To Illustrate The Abovecited Theme. But, Two Things I Wish To Quote Here : a.) DIWALI MARKS THE RETURN OR HOMECOMING OF LORD RAMA AFTER A LONG EXILE OF 14 YEARS DURING WHICH LORD RAMA KILLED THE DEMON, RAVANA. AND THIS WELCOME HOME OF LORD RAMA IS BEING CELEBRATED ALL THROUGH THE MILLENNIA OF INDIAN CIVILIZATION.
b.) DIWALI MARKS THE END OF THE HARVESTING SEASON AND THUS PEOPLE PAY THANKS TO GODS AND GODDESSES FOR THEIR HARVEST THAT YEAR AND PRAY FOR A BETTER YIELD THE NEXT YEAR!
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Most Importantly,DIWALI IS THE CELEBRATION OF 'INNER LIGHT' or The 'ATMANA' or The 'BRAHMNA' That Dwells Deep Inside Each Of Us ,As Per The Hindus' Scriptures,And DIWALI IS AN OCCASION TO 'REJOICE IN THIS PURE ENLIGHTENING LIGHT ' !
A HAPPY DIWALI TO ALL !
MAY ALMIGHTY FILL EACH SOUL WITH JOY AND BLISS!
MAY EACH OF US PROSPER IN LIFE!
MAY EACH OF US REJOICE IN THE INNER LIGHT PRESENT IN EVERY SOUL !
GOD BLESS ALL OF US!
Amen!!
